Venefit

TARGETED ENDOVENOUS THERAPY

Venefit™ Targeted Endovenous Therapy, formerly known as the VNUS Closure™ procedure, is a non-surgical, office-based treatment that was designed specifically to treat varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).

The Venefit procedure uses radio-frequency (RF) energy to evenly and uniformly heat the collagen in the vein walls, causing them to contract, collapse and close, thereby ceasing the retrograde flow of blood. After the diseased vein has been sealed, the blood re-routes itself to healthier veins where it will continue to flow properly.

  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

 VENEFIT BENEFITS

Clinical studies demonstrate that Venefit is an effective vein treatment producing long-term results with less bruising and discomfort, dramatically lower risk of complications than other vein therapies (i.e. painful vein stripping and endovenous laser therapy).

Improvement in symptoms typically occurs within a half day to a day for early stage treatments. Uncomfortable leg sensations resolve almost immediately, improvements in the appearance of varicose veins is also common. Patients are comfortable throughout the procedure which is very well tolerated and typically completed in an hour!

For those who suffer from more advanced CVI will find considerable relief over the course of therapy. Most insurances will pay for Venefit therapy for those who are diagnosed with venous insufficiency and have coverage under their health plan.

VENEFIT PROCEDURE

Your initial consultation, will include a review your medical history, a brief physical examination and an assessment of your legs to determine if medical intervention is appropriate. Your Venefit treatment will be performed in the office and take about an hour.

A simple ultrasound examination may be performed to allow for a formal diagnosis to determine if a customized Venefit treatment is the best vein option for you.

Ultrasound guidance is used throughout the procedure, allowing our providers to visualize your superficial venous system and direct a tiny catheter into the diseased vein to gently heat and seal the refluxing vein segment(s).

This stops any retrograde blood flow from passing through the area and re-routes blood flow into healthier veins. The treated veins will shrink and be naturally absorbed by the body. Patients often find quick relief from painful legs after Venefit along with cosmetic improvement over time.

VENEFIT RECOVERY

Following your Venefit procedure, you may resume normal activities. You will be advised to avoid strenuous activities and prolonged periods of standing for the next 2-3 weeks. We will schedule a follow up ultrasound within 72 hours after your treatment and will continue to monitor your progress periodically over the coming months to ensure a successful treatment.
